The May edition of the RockVerse Digest is here to give you a little European inspiration.

May started out looking like peace and softness. It’s giving “summer in Europe, then come back and implement the learnings.”

We know what travelling does to us.

It releases you from the tight grip of established perceptions and role play, the roles of parent, sibling, son or daughter, career person, relinquishing you from the unconscious pressure of defined roles. It’s productive because you get to learn about yourself on a different level: optimising dormant areas of your personality, trying new places, foods, and experiences.

I would know. I recently experienced 4 and 5-star hospitality across parts of Europe, cities I had only ever seen on Instagram. The character and history of each city became familiar, even if just for a little while. I became more of me in the moment, refining what I liked and expected, rather than sticking to impressions I’d already formed. Real life became a transient interaction with people I may never see or hear from again. Living on caffeine, overspending, and ignoring it, walking 20k+ steps a day, and having no concept of time.

Having hopped around these cities, several hotels and restaurants, I kept a few things in mind:

1. Always prioritise kindness.

2. Move slowly and be present.

3. No planned itinerary > scheduled activities.

I see you wanting more gist. Are you inspired to experience a little ‘escape’ of your own, even just temporarily?
